In order to enhance the safety and security of customers' card online payment transactions, Vietcombank implemented a security feature: 3D Secure - a method of authenticating card payment transactions via One-Time Password (OTP) - for all international credit and debit cards issued by Vietcombank from 2018 and updated to 3D Secure version 2.0 from April 2021.
With the goal of continuously improving customer experience and simplifying card online payment process, from 23/12/2021, Vietcombank will adjust the regulations on 3D Secure feature. Accordingly, card transactions that have been 3D-Secure authenticated by OTP will be able to be authorized immediately, without being checked the following parameters: the status of registration for card payment on the Internet or other secure codes.
This adjustment allows online payment transactions to be processed faster but still ensure safety and security through the 3D Secure feature that Vietcombank has implemented.
