VIETCOMBANK HAS THE LARGEST MARKET VALUE AMONG VIETNAMESE BANKS AND ALSO AMONG TOP 2000 LARGEST PUBLIC AND THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL COMPANIES IN 2016

Forbes Magazine recently published Global 2000 list, including large public and the world's most powerful companies. The assessement criteria are listed as revenue, profits, assets and market value.

In Vietnam, Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) ranked 1843 with revenue of 1.8 billion USD and market value of 5.5 billion USD. Along with Vietcombank, Vietinbank and BIDV are also on the list. However, according to Forbes, Vietcombank’s market value is still greater than the combined market value of Vietinbank and BIDV (Vietinbank’s market value is 2.8 billion USD and BIDV’s market value is 2.6 billion USD).​

Global 2000 this year is announced with the participation of companies from 63 countries with a total revenue of 35.000 billion USD, profit of 2.400 billion USD, asset of 162,000 billion USD and market value of 44.000 billion USD.​

Over the last few years, Vietcombank has been regarded as a stable and effective bank which strives for sustainable growth and pioneers the application of modern banking standards. According to the survey carried out by Anphabe and Nielsen and announced on 11th March 2016 of top 100 best working environment in Vietnam 2015, in the field of finance and banking, Vietcombank continues to affirm its position as the most attractive banks with 6 spots increased ranking from 2014 and become the leading bank in banking industry (including domestic and foreign banks). Besides, Vietcombank is also announced as the only bank in top 300 most dynamic companies in Asia ".​

In 2015, the consulting company Brand Finance published the list of world’s 500 most valuable banking brands, in which Brand Finance rated Vietcombank A+, the highest compared to other banks in Vietnam and Vietcombank's brand value reached 157 million USD.​

With stable development, effective operation towards sustainable growth over the last few years, pioneering the application of modern banking standards, outstanding foundation and ability compared to the averaged level, Vietcombank aims to become the No. 1 bank Vietnam in 2020.​
